Indications: Incontinence, Dribbling, Enuresis (Bed Wetting)
Phytopet Dry contains the herbs:
Shepherds Purse (Capsella bursa-pastoris): A traditional remedy for urinary tract disorders, its antiseptic, diuretic and astringent properties makes Shepherds Purse a must in any incontinence mix.
American Cranesbill (Geranium maculatum): Herbal specific for incontinence, frequency, enuresis and haematuria (blood in urine). Its actions are styptic, haemostatic, astringent.
Schisandra (Schisandra chinensis): actions are adaptogenic, anti-stress, antifatigue, immune system enhancing, it also acts as a liver tonic. Used in traditional Chinese medicine to enhance physical and mental endurance and performance.
Horsetail (Equisitum arvense): Traditionally used for Cystitis and other urinary tract disorders due to its soothing healing action. Rich in silica which aids tissue repair and helps to preserve the elasticity of connective tissue.
Tormentil (Portentilla erecta): A good astringent with a traditional use for incontinence.
Valerian (Valeriana officinalis): An excellent calmer. A proven remedy for anxiety and stress, enuresis, dribbling and incontinence can all be symptoms of stress.
Directions & Dosage: The suggested dose on the bottle gives a drop amount. Small dogs and cats should be given a dose around the lower figure, large dogs should be given a dose around the higher figure. Pigeons and aviary birds, use one drop per bird in drinking water. Because the combinations are in tincture, it is advisable to put drops into a little hot (not boiling) water and allow to cool before administrating. This allows the alcohol to evaporate off. Please note that it may be 2 weeks or so before you notice a difference in behaviour - like many medications they can take a while for the action to be effective.
It is suggested that the following items are added to your animal's food as additional help:
+ Carrots, garlic and potatoes mixed in to food, Slippery Elm powder mixed into water then added to food. Keep meats to a minimum until symptoms disappear.
+ Vitamin C (preferably Ester C) with bioflavonoids. Vitamin C enhances immune function, bioflavonoids enhance Vitamin C absorption. High doses, 500-1000mg 2-3times per day.
+ A good balance of omega 3, 6 and 9 Essential Fatty Acids. EFA's play an essential role in most functions of the body, however, they could prove useful in this instance, due to their effect on the membranes of the urinary tract.
Many customers find that the Phytopet Dry, when used on a daily basis, helps resolve their dog's incontinence problems, and their dog no longer needs to wear the diaper garment or the male wrap.
